Wayne Nile Bausch was born on October 3, 1948, to Nile Bausch and Vivian (Hestness) Bausch. After his father Nile passed away, his mother married Milford Brudvig, who raised Wayne as his own. Wayne was baptized into God's family and later confirmed at Scarville Synod Lutheran Church.

Funeral service for Bob Ruby will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakota. Burial will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Lakota. Dean Ellsworth Holstad of Lake Mills died on Friday, August 14 at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills at the age of 98, a mere 30 days before his 99th birthday. Time for visitation with the family will be held on Friday, Aug. 21 from 4-7 p.m. at Schott Funeral Home-Mittelstadt Chapel, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday, August 22, 2:00 p.m.

Anna Harringa, age 95, of Forest City, passed away at her home under hospice care on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Bruce Alan Shipman, 64, of rural Nora Springs passed away on July 22, 2026, after a long battle with Wegener’s Vasculitis. A proud father, devoted husband, proud uncle and great friend to many. Janice Elaine Smith was born May 19, 1935, first child of Bernhard and Marvel (Gunderson) Teigland, near Bricelyn, Minnesota. She has one brother, John. She was baptized at Bricelyn Lutheran Church. When Janice was four years old, the family moved to a farm one mile north of Rake, Iowa - the farm was on the state line, half in Iowa and half in Minnesota.

Ruth Elizabeth (Bosma) Murra, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Nerdig) Bosma, was born July 31, 1932, on a farm in Hebron Township, Kossuth County near Stevens. The family moved to a farm east of Rake, and she attended Lincoln #1 country school, east of Rake. The family later moved to a farm northwest of Buffalo Center, and she graduated from the Buffalo Center Community School in 1949.

Dwight Eugene Winkleman was born July 25, 1931, in the Buffalo Center, Iowa hospital and spent the first 77 years of his life within the same square mile. The middle child between two sisters, he learned to drive a tractor at seven and – as the only boy – helped his parents care for the land from an early age.

Ronald “Ron” Langfald, a lifelong resident of Lake Mills, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Lake Mills Care Center. He was 91 years old.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Donna Verlaine Butler, on May 21, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born on December 16, 1935, in Lake Mills, Iowa, Donna was the eldest daughter of Orville and Palma Laugen. She was the sister of Phyllis and Howard, both of whom survive her, and the wife of Allan Keith Butler.
